Shagandha® is a Withania somnifera root extract that ensures its authenticity by complying with the US Pharmacopoeia-National Formulary (USP-NF) monograph. The extract was verified by a prominent botanical testing expert Alkemist Labs.
An identity test by HPTLC to show that the material is consistent with Withania somnifera root and a quantitative test for withanolides by HPLC were conducted by the Alkemist Lab. The quantitative testing by HPLC showed that the amount of withanolides in Shagandha® meets the 2.5% withanolide specification claimed on this product. United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) methods were used in both testing cases, showing Shagandha® Extract as authentic Ashwagandha.
